there's nothing wrong with mplayer
you simply opened the wrong mov file :)
it's just a picture i think...
if you open that webpage
(http://www.apple.com/switch/ads/janieporche.html),
and examine it's source, you'll find an another mov file:
http://a772.g.akamai.net/ something /JaniePorche-sref.mov
when you play that file, you'll see the following mplayer output:
.
.
.Playing JaniePorche-sref.mov
MOV: Reference Media file!!!
REF: [url ] http://a772.g.akamai.net/ someting /qt5gateQT3.mov
REF: [url ] http://a772.g.akamai.net/ something /qt5gateQT4.mov
REF: [url ] http://a772.g.akamai.net/ something /qt5gateQT4.1.mov
REF: [url ] http://a772.g.akamai.net/ something /qt5gateQT4.1.1.mov
REF: [url ] http://a772.g.akamai.net/ something /qt5gateQT4.1.2.mov
REF: [url ] JaniePorche_m240.mov
REF: [url ] JaniePorche_m320.mov
REF: [url ] JaniePorche_m480.mov
.
.
.
and then simply get the last one: JaniePorche_m480.mov...
it has the same url, so if the -sref.mov had an url:
http://a772.g.akamai.net/ something /JaniePorche-sref.mov,
then you need:
http://a772.g.akamai.net/ something /JaniePorche_m480.mov
and that's the file you want to watch.
:)
bye,
gabor
