[MPlayer-users] feature request? killing other processes using resources

Afternoon people

Does anyone else think it would be beneficial to be able to get mplayer or 
mencoder to try to kill any programs using resources that would otherwise 
make the program fail? Inparticular i'm thinking about a TV card... I've a 
script that sets a cron job to record from tv. But if Xawtv is on or such 
like then the system will obviously fail. Any chance of adding the same 
functionality of an "fuser -k /dev/video0" as an additional option?
