Using mencoder 0.90rc1
I am trying to encode a 16:9 DVD, using the following options the movie
was scaled to 4:3
 mencoder -aspect 16:9 -dvd 3 -slang en -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vhq:vbitrate=695:vpass=1 -vop crop=702:556:10:8

so I read in the docs that adding aspect=16.0/9.0 to the vcodec line
woule preserve the aspect ration (while playing in mplayer at least)
so I used these options
mencoder -aspect 16:9 -dvd 3 -slang en -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vhq:vbitrate=695:aspect=16.0/9.0:vpass=1 -vop crop=702:556:10:8 -o das_experiment.avi

that results in a segfault witht the following message,
