hmm, i thought that the slice padding bugs are allready fixed in the latest 
dev version, but i never checked (i wasnt able to get latest dev3-xvid to 
generate a playable video at all last time i tried)

yes, but they are too stupid and use it anyway, and then they complain that 
they cant play the movies anymore, IMHO its the fault of the ppl who provide 
binaries of unstable & buggy encoders

this is not a very good idea, as ffmpeg works around many bugs allready, 
perhaps ffmpeg should print more warnings if it detects inconsistant stuff
