Using latest cvs (mplayer/ffmpeg). Configured with the quicktime codec
support enabled (downloaded QT codecs from
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/).

Trying to play the file
heroinestatue_mpeg4.mov (and other mov files too) from
http://umn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/heroines/ but mplayer always
gives video without any audio. Here's the most important part of mplayer
output:

==> Found video stream: 1

Display size: 720 x 480

get_path('codecs.conf') -> '/home/ndeb/.mplayer/codecs.conf'

Can't find codec for audio format 0x5367674F!

My codec.conf is the latest. So its a case of unknown audio format. The
audio in the .mov file is definitely playable by xmovie
(http://www.heroinewarrior.com/xmovie.php3) since thats where I got the
file from.

thanks
