[MPlayer-users] problem with -vo options

the following output is what I get when trying to run "gmplayer -vo
vesa" or "gmplayer -vo xv". None of the other modes crash, except they
say "Cannot open -vo device. "gmplayer -vo dga" *does* work, however it
cuts off all keyboard and mouse input until the file is done playing.
Anyone have any ideas?
Specs:
Mplayer .90.rc2
RedHat 8.0 on P2-400
ATI Mach64 8mb
thanks for any help
Brendan
