hi ..

i'm running into the same problem here - i also tried to work around this with 
a playlist but also failed with the same chapter 0 problem:

marcooo at maxxx:~> cat playme
dvd://1
dvd://2
marcooo at maxxx:~> mplayer -playlist playme

Playing DVD title 2
Using CSS Key-cache dir: /home/marcooo/.mplayer/DVDKeys/XFILES_SEASON3_DISC5
Reading disc structure, please wait...
There are 21 titles on this DVD.
There are 12 chapters in this DVD title.
Invalid DVD chapter number: 0
Exiting... (End of file)

but with this little trick it works:

mplayer dvd://1 -chapter 1- dvd://2 -chapter 1- 

.. anyway .. i think this autmatic selection of chapter 0 is a bug .. maybe a 
devel guy can take a look ...
