Of course!  I just booted into Windows again to compare and Media
Player does not show the stripes at the same resolution - color depth
- refresh rate combination.  If you need some more details, I will be
glad to provide them.  No stripes also with -vo xv.  I just noticed
that the stripes are actually parts of the image moved to the right,
like this:

Not sure if this illustrates the point, but there are some areas that
get painted to the right of where they should be.  Funny is also that
there are some "sweet spots" on the screen where the image does not
show any errors..

Here is the output of latest CVS mplayer, I already posted a detailed
description of my hardware and system configuration in my first post,
but if you need them again just shout and I will send it to you.
