[MPlayer-users] How to tell wether vidix is working?

Hi there.

How can I tell whether vidix is really working for my ATI Rage128 card? 
If I use it under X (-vo xvidix) I see a remarkable gain in CPU idle 
time but when I use it under VESA (-vo vesa:vidix) I see no visual 
difference to pure VESA (-vo vesa) except a long delay (10secs) for the 
first frame to be displayed.
