hmm,  now this is wierd.  if I run gmplayer as root, it works, as a user, no 
luck ( "Skin not found ( default )." ).  The weird thing is it doesn't seem 
to matter about the permissions,   I even chown bjorn, and chmod 777, on the 
default (skin I'm trying to use) directory.  same message.  Seems I shouldn't 
need to be root to use the gui though.
