On my Sony Vaio with Neomagic 256AV I have just hit the bug mentioned in
video.html:
* some drivers seem to fail to report even a single valid mode. In this case
the DGA driver will crash telling you about a nonsense mode of
100000x100000 or the like ...
When running mplayer (latest cvs version) I get this error:
VO: [dga] 576x240 => 576x240 BGR 32-bit
VO: Description: DGA ( Direct Graphic Access V2.0 )
VO: Author: Andreas Ackermann <acki at acki-netz.de>
video_out->init(576x240->576x240,flags=0,'MPlayer',0x42475220)
vo_dga: XServer res: 1024x768
vo_dga: modelines=0x838bb18, modecount=1
vo_dga: DGA 2.0 available :-) Can switch resolution AND depth!
vo_dga: Selected hardware mode 100000 x 100000 @ 100000 Hz @ depth 24,
bitspp 32.
vo_dga: Video parameters by codec: 576 x 240, depth 24, bitspp 32.
vo_dga: Something is wrong with your DGA. There doesn't seem to be a
single suitable mode!
Please file a bug report (see DOCS/DGA)
FATAL: Cannot initialize video driver!
Is there any work-around known for this problem?
Thanks in advance,
