[MPlayer-users] mencoder rescaling crashes libmpeg2

I'm just trying to use mencoder (of MPlayer-20020227) for dvd->divx
encoding. Everything works great, as long as I don't use scaling. If I
specify -x, -y or both, I get the following output:

[...]

@@@ libmpeg2 returned from sig11... (bad file?) @@@

I could try to do some debugging. Any suggestions were to start? Is that
bug already known to someone?

I'm now using the yuv4mpeg output driver of mplayer with a fifo (created
via `mkfifo') to resize with yuvscaler instead. And here another
possible bug occures: mencoder tries to seek on fifos, which makes it
abort. It works however when redirecting the fifo to mencoder's
stdandard input.

It would BTW be nice if mencoder knew how to output yuv4mpeg, then one
could use redirections instead of fifos...
