It was plain text before but it's really nicer in HTML.

Besides, 'lynx -dump ...' (most likely same thing with links or w3m)
will give yoy plain grep-able text.

With a sh compatible shell, just do in DOC/ :
 for I in *.html ; do lynx -dump $I > `basename $I .html`.txt; done
