Interesting... I've only seen that message appear once, at the very end of a
file (and suffered no ill from it, obviously. probably the last frames are
perfect black)
So, I guess we're both correct... use it if you see that message, else
don't!

The inverse telecine is done regardless of the frame rate. Thats why you
see
a steady stream of "duplicate 1 frame(s)" messages when you choose a frame
rate like 29.97 FPS when encoding a telecined 29.97 FPS NTSC DVD.
