[MPlayer-users] No AVI in VESA??

I am unable to play AVI's in VESA mode.  I guess there is a scaling problem.  Is there a workaround?  

It hasn't worked on any AVI's I've tried.  (I'm using a Neomagic card which has not native driver on a IBM thinkpad 600e).
