actually i am not a developer, but i can tell that the redhat is not the
best choice(IMHO), like it's 2.96.x gcc series problem was.

i recomend you to use debian, because it is not include gcc compilers,
such like 2.96 or 3.0.x to default.
but if you install for example gcc-3.0.x you should see that it is 'PRE'
version, so it is not tested, and completed!!

but if you choose redhat, you should keep gcc-2.95.x, until everybody will
say, that the gcc-3.x.x is stable! but i think, it is so far away!
