[MPlayer-users] "Stream not seekable!" for streaming audio (ASF)

Greetings,

MPlayer (both 0.60 and CVS) versions work great with the mms:// video streams (using ASF/Windows Media), but I have found with streaming audio ASF, there is usually a "Stream not seekable!" message and the program sits there. Furthermore, the program appears to be downloading the stream, but doesn't get played.

Two of the streams that I've tested include:

mms://winmedialive.webhosting.bigpond.com/UCS-wh_nova960

and

http://160.124.208.82 (and http://160.124.208.82/FM)

I am running Mandrake 8.1 (customised) with X4.1 and MPlayer (0.60 and the current CVS build) having tested ESD/SDL and OSS for audio. Audio works fine with other file formats, including other ASF and mms:// protocol streams.

Anyone know of a workaround to get the sound playing with audio-only ASF/streaming mms streams?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
