[MPlayer-users] ASF Audio-Only in the neer future?

I've been closely following MPlayer's progress closely over the last few months and have been very impressed with the number of formats it's capable of handling.

I was even more impressed when I discovered mms:// (Microsoft Streaming Media) support was included and found that ASF video media streams were playing great. Some of them however are Audio-Only and whilst I understand MPlayer is a media player and not a plan audio player (yes, I read the FAQ and docs), it would be very nice to have steaming audio-only playback.

Could it be that difficult to implement? The reason why I say this is because I've tested a few streaming audio URLs (mms:// and plan http) and whilst they don't play at all, MPlayer appears to be interpreting it and the streams are actually downloading (I'll attach my logs below - for what it's worth)

Has anyone by any chance come across a patch that allows the playing of these audio formats without video?

One of the URLs I frequently listen to (at the mo, I'm using VMware - which is a little extreme to play streaming media files!) is http://160.124.208.82:80/5FM (which MPlayer appears to be able to download, but not interpret properly).

(It sits there, downloads media, but doesn't play. Only terminates when I tell it to).

Any information would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon
