Is gtk-dev installed?

You should note that you HAVE the development versions of gtk and png are
installed as well. They're needed to compile a program using these libraries
however they're not needed to use an already compiled program. Since you
should compile MPlayer yourself, you should install development versions
of these packages as well (similar package name but with 'dev' or 'devel'
int their name, I dunno exactly, I'm using only Debian).

If THEY ARE installed and it does not work, please check 'configure.log'
after executing ./configure and search for the output of test checking gtk.
You should find some solution then if you're capable of general Linux knowledge
enough.
