Hello.
I'm having a strange problem. While early 5.x (IIRC) versions worked
quite fine (*even* if compiled with gcc-the_buggy_version ! :-) ),
version 6.0
doesen't play video from *.mpg files - just something resempling a
flashing cursor in the upper left corner of the window :-(
At first I thought it was a gcc-related issue, but now I installed
gcc-3.0.3 and have the same problem.
My system description :
- Mandrake 8.0 as a base, many libraries added from .tar.gz
- kernel 2.4.9-ac10
- libc 2.2.2
- XFree86 Version 4.0.3 / X Window System (protocol Version 11,
revision 0, vendor release 6400)
- gcc version 3.0.3 (thread mode: single)
- ld 2.10.91 (with BFD 2.10.1.0.2)
- as 2.10.91
(cutting down HW part: it works for AVI and ASF...)
Output of mplayer -v follows :

I know... my faszomCounter is probably quite high :-) but I found no
other way to solve this except using VLC :-( or asking here.
Tks,
Diego.
