never had problems with that. encoded a couple of movies in linux with ogg-vbr  
and muxed them together with a tool called oggmux under vmware-wintendo. this 
movies never have desync problems and are playable under linux like normal 
movies, presumed that you've installed oggvorbis.

but it works perfect.
