[MPlayer-users] Mencoder and VCD

Hello,

I'm trying to record a VCD from a DVD. I did using
"mencode -dvd 1 -o output.avi" and then using lav2wav,
lav2yuv, mpeg2enc, mp2enc and then mplex. It worked,
but worst much time (about 3 times the movie duration)
and disk space (about 1.5gb*3). 

So, I'm wondering if there is a way to mencoder output
a "ready-to-use" VCD mpeg1 , if so what options I
should use?
What you use to record VCD?
