[MPlayer-users] extract mpeg's audio?

Is there a way to extract just the audio from an mpg? I've tried the
first pass of a 3pass divx conversion because I thought that was
supposed to output a file with just the audio(as mp3 in that case) but
when i try and play it back in xmms or mplayer they both exit with an
error.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
