sounds well, but false.
option -delay is used by mplayer's a-v sync code. as mencoder has different
a-v code, -delay isn't implement there. anyway it's on the TODO, along the
other 15 thousands of things...

anyway mencoder needs a lots of improvement:
- muxer layer, to allow output in mpeg, asf, mov etc formats
- -delay support, configurable preload/chunksize for audio
- fix endianess problems
- support for more codecs
etc
