I just changed this in CVS.  Configure now aborts on an unknown option.

 > f.e.: "You have specified an invalid/unknown option "<option>".
 > Please check ./configure --help for the correct options and try
 > again."

Good idea, I will add a nice message later.

P.S.: You need to properly break your lines at 72 characters.  These
overly long lines are horrible.
