[MPlayer-users] gui problem with libpng

My distro is mandrake8.2 on athlon.
I've installed mplayer 0.90pre5 from tarball (no CVS).
My configuration options were --cc=/usr/local/bin/gcc (to use gcc 2.95.3) 
and --enable-gui.
I have downloaded default skin, too.
Build is successful and mplayer works without a glitch. gmplayer starts too, 
but when I click on the open button it crashes with the following:

MPlayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: unknown
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen. It can be a bug in the MPlayer 
code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your gcc version. If you think it's 
MPlayer's fault, please read DOCS/bugreports.html and follow instructions 
there. We can't and won't help unless you provide these informations when 
reporting a possible bug.


----I have both libpng 1.0.12 and libpng 1.2.1 installed, the first also 
with development packages (all packets found in mdk8.2 installation cds).
The only png.h I have (not counting the one provided with mplayer) is from 
version 1.0.12.
