hi,

i was told that i should put the realplayer lib's into /usr/local/lib/real

and it worked..

but today i updated mplayer from cvs, and now configure couldn't find
the real-files..

of course if i use ./configure --with-real-something=/usr/local/lib/real ,
then it works..

so i wanted to find out where should i put them to be able to let them
autodetect with mplayer-configure...

i opened DOCS/codecs.html, and found this:

"
It's recommended to download and install RealPlayer8 or RealONE, because
MPlayer can use their libraries to decode files with RealVideo 2.0 or
RealVideo 3.0 video! All you have to do is:

   ln -s /usr/local/RealPlayer8/Codecs $PREFIX/real

NOTE: RealPlayer's installation path may differ from the above, please
check it.
"

of course my install path was different :-))

but the main problem is, what dows $PREFIX mean?

i think something like /usr/lib or /usr/local/lib.. or what?

so, to summarize it:
1. where should i put those files
2. please update that part of the documentation to be understandable

thanks,
gabor

p.s: btw. i was surprised that there's documentation about the real
codecs.. they have been added only several days ago...wow... nice work :-)
