what's the license status of mplayer?

is it GPL now?

because if it is, we/i could contact mandrake to add mplayer to the
mandrake distribution ( at least to cooker ( the mandrake-unstable )).

last time someone asked to get mplayer included, they told that some .c
files in mplayer aren't under GPL ( so they looked into it )..

thanks,
gabor
