This is the list of gcc3 stuff available with MDK 8.2:

gcc3.0-3.0.4-2mdk.i586.rpm
gcc3.0-cpp-3.0.4-2mdk.i586.rpm

Install 'em and then uninstall the 2.96 RPMs. MPlayer compiles perfectly
with these...
