I have done some additional testing mplayer vs powerDVD
on 800MHz EPIA board.
mplayer (16fps -vo dga)
5volts 3.3volts
=====================
2.00 amps 1.45 amps (XV ACCELERATION)
=====================
powerDVD
5volts 3.3volts
=====================
2.62 amps 1.71 amps (NO ACCELERATION)
2.40 amps 1.65 amps (ACCELERATED)
=====================
Processor is 5volt, chipset is 3.3volt, so can see powerDVD is
driving the processor and northbridge a lot harder than mplayer,
those boys know how to code, as well as using the VGA blanking
period to update frames for smoothe playback.
if powerDVD for linux has the same performance it will become
the premier video player for Linux, any chance of someone
from mplayer contacting me off list.
