[MPlayer-users] Which default framerate?

Hey all, quick question...

I've noticed that some videos lose a/v synch when converting them from
AVI to VCD format with mencvcd.

I try to let mpeg2enc determine what the default framerate is, but
sometimes it cannot, so I usually just push it to 30 fps using the -vfr
4 option.

With some this works ok, but others lose synch somewhere between the
middle and end of the vid.  Usually the video runs ahead of the sound.

Is there a more standard rate that I should use like maybe 25 fps?  Or
is it pretty much hit and miss?
