hi,

i have some problems to start working with menconder:
 First, i download the last mplayer - v0.9pre5. But i can't find the
enconder to divx. when i make 'mencoder -ovc help' the output is
-copy
-rawrgb
-frameno
-lavc
this means i have to download the divx, and compile it again?

 Second, i try to split one big avi file, and i use:
  'mencoder -ovc copy -endpos 30:00', but the first part of the file is
bigger than the whole movie.


Thrid, its possible to encode a mpeg movie into a divx movie without any
losses of quality? I mean, whole the information that are in mpeg file
stay in divx, only more compressed, like a zip file. what are the option
to do this?
