[MPlayer-users] mono audio

I've trying:

mencoder some.avi -oac mp3lame -lameopts br=32:cbr:mode=3 -ovc lavc
-lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=400

But the result sound stills in stereo. (Man says mode=3 is mono)

I've also trying br with values less than 32 but the result is an avi without
sound.

Any ideas?
