Hi -
Up until a few days ago I was able to play .m2v (mpeg-2 files
created with 'mpeg2enc' from mjpegtools).
Tonight mplayer says "sorry, this file format not recognized ..."
sitka.17-> mplayer nld.m2v
MPlayer CVS-020318-20:58-2.95.3 (C) 2000-2002 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS!)

============= Sorry, this file format not recognized/supported ===============
=== If this file is an AVI, ASF or MPEG stream, please contact the author! ===
*** free_stream() called ***
Exiting... (End of file)
file nld.m2v says:
nld.m2v: MPEG video stream data
mplex'ing with an audio stream produces something recognized - ah yes,
that works. So it seems that only 'bare' mpeg-2 video files aren't
recognized at the present time.
Hopefully the libmpdemux/ checks can be enhanced a little ;)
Cheers,
Steven Schultz
