[MPlayer-users] No XVideo with SiS530

(I've already posted this to comp.linux.x but got no response :( )

I'm having some trouble with getting mplayer to use the XVideo extension,
which is supposed to be supported, according to the sis(4) manual page.

The graphics chip, a SiS 530 is integrated on the Motherboard, a 531CF
(Sorry, don't know what brand it is.) It uses between 2 and 8 MB of the
computer's RAM as video memory, as the graphics chip doesn't have any VRAM
of its own. The X server seems to work fine in all others respects than
XVideo support, and runs KDE fine.

The computer runs Xfree86 4.2.0 on Slackware Linux 8.0.

The MPlayer web page suggested that i try the xvinfo command to check if
XVideo support is enabled. This is what I got:

$ xvinfo
X-Video Extension version 2.2
screen #0
no adaptors present
$

However, contradictory to this, the X log clearly states:

(II) Loading extension XVideo
(II) Loading extension XVideo-MotionCompensation

(Please find attached my XF86Config and the XFree86.0.log.)

Any ideas on how I could solve this, or pointers to where I might find more
information concerning this? Or maybe some other good newsgroups or mailing
lists I could ask on?
