as i wrote on the homepage - we cannot fix that code
alex - who starte dit and who has v4l device - has no interest and
time to work more on that, and no other developers with
interest&&time&&v4ldevice to fix it.

so, it depends on when some user send some patch...
don't expect the mplayer developers to do it.
