Well, i inspected what it was.

/sbin/fuser /dev/dsp
/dev/dsp:             6127

and then I took a look at ps -ef 

phil      6127     1  0 12:24 ?        00:00:03 /usr/bin/artsd -F 10 -S 4096 
-s ........

MPlayer 0.6 doesn't use /dev/dsp May be it uses something different? How can 
i find what device does it use?

I'm a novice at Linux. Can you help me to understand what to do?
