[MPlayer-users] Crop & Scale probs (bug?)

I have a problem with a DVD (NTSC - Region 6):

mplayer can crop via -vop crop=704:274:8:108
and it will apply prescaling before playing. (aspect ratio)
mencoder won't do that (prescaling).
(The resulting file is not in correct aspect ratio)


so, if i want to scale manually,
 
-vop scale=704:308:crop=704:274:8:108

the result will be a file with the correct size (704:308) but
it contains the movie WITH the borders, as if i never used crop!
How can i crop a movie and scale the result?
