[MPlayer-users] request - ss / endpos by percentage

would there be any plans to let -ss and -endpos accept a percentage? with 
a 1.2gb divx film i need to spilt it in two, but there's no sure fire way 
to do it nicely without guessing where the file might splt. -endpos can 
accept file sizes, which is half good, but if ss can't accept (which is 
reasonable) then that's a useless approach for dividing them accurately. 
but if i can say -ss 50% and -endpos 50%, presumably with the perecentage 
being based on filesize (is that not what mencoder does already, based on 
the input file size?) then it'd be a doddle.
