can i risk drifting utterly out of the mplayer ballpark and ask exactly
what you get from a TV-out signal? obviously i know what it does, and i
want to be able to use mplayer to play films on my tv, but... is a tv-out
signal normally just a permanent TV version of the monitor output? is more
configuration required?? I'vv been looking at some of the new matrox dual
head cards with tvout of a zoomed in part of the other screen and stuff...
but i presume all that kind of thing is impossible outside of windows?

thanks
chris
