[MPlayer-users] mecoder from mms

hi, I'm having trouble to encode directly from mms. If I try to play the movie there's no problem, but when I try to encode it, mencoder just says that it is an unsupported codec. I think it is wmv.... why is mplayer able to play it but not to encode it?
Could you give me some hint to encode it?
