[MPlayer-users] libavcodec package

Hi, 
I read in the list that I can get best results using the libavcodec instead of Divx4/5.
I have two questions:
- Do the videos encoded with libavcodec play from windows?
- Where can I found a recent tar.gz package of ffmpeg (since I can't access to the cvs because of a firewall)?
