[MPlayer-users] problems/questions with lavc

Hi,

I have heard some people say that resolution must be a multiple of 16, 
while some other say it must be multiple of 8. Is there an official 
setting? No clear info on ffmpeg homepage... I really would prefer 
multiple o 8 only... ;)

Can using wrong scaling cause wrong (too big, otherwise OK) output file 
being produced in the -pass 2 encoding step? The -pass 1 avi is of 
correct length...

Has those 2 things anything to do with each other?
