More like garbage. I have also tried svga and that produced the same output

AFAIK you may try using a diffrent -ov, Try running console w/-vo veso
or svga and see if it works.
How does it look like when you have this error? More like garbage or
more like parts of the screen interchanging, switching, doubling
ect.(the standard out-of-sync type).
