[MPlayer-users] encoding faster than realtime?

You must be using a too big scale for your encodings, what is not a good idea.
Try to use, for example, 511x288 for 16x9 films and the bitrate just at "vhq" (around 800). If from original DVD you obtain good quality and the the fps should be over 25...
