[MPlayer-users] audio sync problem

I have an avi in which the sound is about 3 seconds ahead of the video.
I have tried the delay setting and tried to set the ao_delay in
gui.conf, but neither method has had any affect. I am attaching a log
from mplayer to show what was detected.

Is there any other way to resync the audio that I could try? I should
point out that this avi is fine in Windows Video Player.
