I encode and crop the borders with a Pentium II 300mhz ~ 60% CPU. It's
encoded at 320x240 MPEG1 (lavcodec).

Try various combinations of vlelim, vcelim... like Richard mentioned
some time ago (thread was "insane compulsive ... mencoder options")

Remember to crop the borders if u get noise.
