hi

i'm looking at building a web-based front-end for mplayer (to use on an
ipaq or similar). this would appear to be MUCH simpler if i can just run
mplayer in slave mode and tell it the path of files to play -- however
although slave mode seems to offer all the other functionality i want,
it doesn't seem to all me to tell it to interrupt doing whatever its
doing and open another file -- i know i can tell it to quit and start up
again with another file, but it would be neater (no external loop) if i
could tell mplayer to start up, take slave commands, and just leave it
at that, rather than having to wrap it in another loop) -- i.e if 'stop
playing current file' and 'quit althogether' where separate commands,
and if mplayer could be started up effectively as a shall, to be fed
commands until told to quit...

is there a way to do that?

thx
