Did you read the freevo_apps/mplayer/README that came with freevo_apps
package for the Freevo MPlayer?

It states:

The problem is that you're using the "-wid" parameter on the
commandline, it will never work without an X11 application with a
correct window ID to draw to.

Freevo uses freevo_xwin for this, but it doesn't work everywhere so it
can disabled in freevo_config. Please read the Freevo FAQ, and ask for
more help on the Freevo mailing lists instead (and wait more than 15
minutes before trying this mailing list again).
