[MPlayer-users] Audio sync using divx4

I have been trying to encode movies recorded off of tv capture card
using vcr (DivX5.0 codec). In the final output, the sound is out of
sync, and adjusting the audio sync (+ and - keys) doesn't seem to help.
The A-V display still hovers around 0.000, meaning that mplayer thinks
the sound is synced. The sound _is_ synced in the original avi. So the
issue appears to be in mencoder or the way I am employing it.

I am using the following steps:

mencoder in.avi -ovc frameno -oac mp3lame -lameopts \
br=128:vbr=3:mode=0 -o frameno.avi

mencoder in.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=${bitrate}:vhq:vqmin=1:vqmax=31:vpass=1 -npp lb
-oac copy -o out.avi

mencoder file.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=${bitrate}:vhq:vqmin=1:vqmax=31:vpass=2 -npp lb
-oac copy -o out.avi

I tried recoding it changing the mode to cbr in the frameno extraction,
and still no soup.

have read the docs several times, but I can't find anything that has
pointed me to a solution. The only thing I can determine is that this
process last worked in 0.90pre5. Can someone please show me where I'm
going wrong?

Regards,
